The year 1403 was a true embodiment of the intersection of fear and hope, challenges and opportunities.
Nowruz message from Dr. Mohammad Shariatmadari
The Petrochemical Industry Ends a Difficult Year of Imbalance with a Worthy Record Perseverance and Innovation: The Two Wings of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Group for Industry Renewal

According to the Public Relations Department of Petrochemical Investment Company (Petrol), the CEO of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Group emphasized in his Nowruz (New Year) message—reflecting on the ups and downs of the year 1403—that in the new year, the country’s economy, especially large industries, must undergo transformation and renewal.

The full Nowruz message from Mohammad Shariatmadari is as follows:

“From the beloved’s alley comes the breeze of Nowruz,
With help from this breeze, you can light the lamp of the heart.”

We welcome the arrival of spring and the New Year with the hope that under the virtues of Ramadan, it will bring prosperity and blessings to the lives of all Iranians—especially the hardworking petrochemical industry family.

The people of Iran experienced a unique and challenging year, filled with both hope and uncertainty. It was a year marked by a complex interplay of fears and aspirations, challenges and opportunities. The events of this year hold many untold lessons for the wise and prudent to reflect upon, as commanded by the Holy Quran.

At the beginning of this year, the tragic loss of the revolutionary president and a number of faithful servants of the Islamic Republic was a sorrowful event. However, under the wise leadership of the Supreme Leader, the elections marked a new chapter in the political and social life of the Iranian people. As a result, a government with a lofty vision of unity and rebuilding Iran took the helm.

The vast family of the industry sector—led by the pioneering petrochemical complex—embarked on a new test, guided by the Supreme Leader's vision of a "Production Leap." Despite challenges such as currency fluctuations, regional tensions, intensified unjust sanctions, and energy imbalances, the petrochemical industry moved forward with dynamism and continued innovation. Leaders and policymakers, hand-in-hand with determined engineers and creative industrialists in various regions, including Assaluyeh and Mahshahr, sought through synergy and innovation to minimize the impact of these waves of challenges, which at times strained public livelihoods.

Now, we can proudly say that the petrochemical industry has successfully concluded a difficult year of imbalances with a commendable performance. Research institutions and analytical reports testify to the capability and success of our large family in preserving this industry’s role as a leader in exports, a source of foreign exchange, and the heartbeat of the country’s production.

Without a doubt, in the new year, the continuation of production and progress in this industry will require fresh efforts, ideas, and innovations. The challenges of 1403 opened a new window for us to understand the realities and constraints of today's Iranian economy. Accordingly, the country’s economy—especially its large industries—must transform and renew in the new year.

Fortunately, the first stage of this reform and renewal strategy has begun within the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Group through major investments in innovation, research, and development. In this process—aimed at infusing the petrochemical industry with innovation and technology—dozens of knowledge-based companies have opened the door to cooperation with the group’s production companies under the idea of “local manufacturing.”

Our main capital and point of reliance in this critical path are the talents of passionate and determined individuals across our beloved Iran. The Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Group will continue to rely on the ingenuity and capabilities of the country’s youth to advance its plans in the new year. Perseverance and innovation will be the two main wings of our movement toward the industry’s renewal.

I find it my duty, in this fragrant atmosphere of spring, with hearts and eyes uplifted around the divine table of blessings, to wish for a bright and prosperous future for dear Iran and for success and happiness for my esteemed colleagues. In a beautiful coincidence, the beginning of the new year aligns with the spiritual nights of Qadr, and the great poet Saadi has wonderfully captured the union of these ancient and divine moments:

"Let the drummer announce the good news twice:
Last night was Qadr, and today is Nowruz."
