The seed of Iran's most strategic export industry, the petrochemical industry, was planted in 1959.
Since then, the dedicated engineers, workers, and employees of this sector have devoted their utmost efforts to its growth.
Over the past six decades, they have transformed this industry into a cornerstone of the country's economic strength—an advantage without which development would be unimaginable.
The petrochemical industry serves as the lifeline of Iran’s economy. Undeterred by unjust sanctions, it has paved the way for increasing non-oil exports. To ensure that this proud industry retains its position as a "competitive advantage," a stronger focus on value creation is imperative.
In this context, harnessing the potential of knowledge-based companies is vital, significantly enhancing their contribution to the economy. This approach will foster innovative value creation and generate new employment opportunities.
Recognizing its importance, the 8th of Dey in the Iranian calendar (December 29) has been designated as Petrochemical Industry Day.
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all my compatriots, especially the dedicated professionals of the petrochemical industry, on this occasion. I look forward to witnessing even greater achievements and prosperity in Iran’s proud petrochemical sector.
