PETROL’s mutual cooperation with the neighbors
‘Persian Gulf Petrochemical Complementary Industries Investment and Development Group (PETROL)’ is one of the companies that has received joint investment requests from neighboring countries in order to meet the global demand.

According to a report of the public relations section of ‘PETROL’, quoted by ‘Donya-e-Eqtesad’ newspaper: “During the war between Russia and Ukraine, some commodity markets faced serious problems and one of these markets is the urea market. The global price of urea fertilizer has recently fluctuated and the demand for it has increased, these events have caused foreign investors to seek joint investments with Iranians. ‘Persian Gulf Petrochemical Complementary Industries Investment and Development Group (PETROL)’ is also one of the companies that have received joint investment requests from neighboring countries in order to meet global demand.” On the sidelines of the 16th ‘IranPlast’ exhibition, the CEO of ‘PETROL’ Company stated: “Five priority projects are being followed up and we hope that these projects will be put into production circuit by the second half of the upcoming year. Following these plans will lead to an advance of 300 thousand tons in manufactured products and 700 million Dollars in PETROL revenues.”

Rashid Ghanei also pointed out that the current level of PETROL’s production is 1.5 million tons and said: “’Petro Armand Lordegan’, the unit which produces melamine crystal, is pursuing to complete the value chain of ‘Lordegan Petrochemical’ (urea unit).”

PETROL’s CEO also added: “Assuming that 2.5 units of urea are used for the production of each unit of melamine crystal in ‘Khorasan Petrochemical’ and 3 units o urea are used in order to produce one unit of melamine crystal in ‘Urmia Petrochemical’, in ‘Petro Armand Lordegan’ every unit of melamine crystal will be produced by only 1.5 units of urea! We are seeking to put ‘Petro Armand Lordegan’ in production circuit as the largest unit in the country with a capacity of 40,000 tons by the middle of the upcoming year.”

The CEO of PETROL emphasized that ‘Arghavan Gostar Ilam Petrochemical’ will be launched as a polypropylene unit by the end of next year. “This unit’s Feedstock is prepared with a capacity of 150 thousand tons. Currently, the propylene of ‘Ilam Petrochemical’ is being sold to other applicants, however with the establishment of ‘Argwan Gostar Ilam’, all of the propylene will be allocated to this unit.”, he said.

According to him, ‘Sadaf Petrochemical’ will be Iran's first ESPR unit, which will hopefully be put into the production circuit with a capacity of 80,000 tons by the second half of the upcoming year. The CEO of ‘PETROL Company’ announced the ‘caustic soda production unit with a sanitary grade’ as the group’s fourth priority project which will be the first unit in the whole country to produce this product with a capacity of 40,000 tons. According to him, the fifth plan is the poly-aluminum chloride (PAC) unit project, with a similar capacity of 40,000 tons. One of the advantages of this project is preventing the import of PAC which is commonly used in the water and sewage industry.

Mr. Ghanei added: “PETROL is planning to construct petrochemical parks in the southern coastal strip of the country. One of the parks will be constructed for the methanol value chain in the special area of ‘Parsian’ near ‘Asaluye’. This area is 1000 hectares and includes 60 projects. Subsequently, five more parks will be constructed in the southern coast of the country during the next four years.

He stated: “Joint production accelerates the growth in the market share of neighboring countries and creates employment opportunities.”

The CEO of ‘PETROL Company’ added: “Despite the investment proposal from foreign countries, we have announced that ‘Persian Gulf Holding’ has no financial problem and we are ready to cooperate in the form of joint investment.” He continued: “The offer of cooperation in the field of fertilizer production has been highly demanded.”

Lastly, Mr. Ghanei stated that the directors of the ‘Persian Gulf Holding’ examined various ways of cooperation during their trip to Venezuela over the last two weeks, and added that the holding intends to cooperate with Venezuela in the field of overhaul, improvement of petrochemical and refining industries and joint production. “Moreover, we are hoping to be able to use foreign licenses. Besides we have had discussions with China about these fields. Currently, we are cooperating with 700 knowledge-based companies in all sectors of the holding. Presently our company has 3,000 employees, and we hope that this number will increase to 3,500 employees by the completion of these plans.”, he said.
